PIRIN NATIONAL PARK

Pirin National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage site within close proximity to Hotel Strazhite. The national park was established in 1962 and received UNESCO World Heritage status in 1983. Pirin National Park covers around 40,000 ha and gives tourists an amazing opportunity to discover Bulgaria’s natural beauty. WINTER ACTIVITIES

The Leading Ski Resort in Bulgaria – Bansko is developing with extremely fast temps. The resort provides new opportunities for the skiers, the snowboarders, the extreme sports, biathlon and cross – country skiing. A bonus for the skier is the 7 kilometers long lighted ski – road between Banderishka polyana and the town. Bansko offers great variety of ski pistes that can satisfy everyone’s tastes and abilities. 100% of the ski runs are covered by snow cannons, which guarantee sufficient snow coverage from December to May.

Along with the beautiful Pirin Mountains, the town of Bansko offers many sites connected with the history of the dwelling, as well as numerous spots of natural beauty. Jazz Festival – The International Jazz Festival in Bansko is the biggest summer musical event in Bulgaria. It is organised every year in the first 2 weeks of August.The enormous popularity which the Festival enjoys among specialists and fans across the World has turned  into one of the foremost international cultural happenings in the Balkans. The quaint old town of Bansko becomes a meeting place for emblematic figures of today’s music world.

FIS Ski Cup – The city of Bansko has been a host of more than 10 FIS World Cup Events.
